Chatta and Dyslexia Sparks

dyslexia sparks

Chatta is proud to be working with Dyslexia Sparks, a charity based in Hull and East Yorkshire supporting dyslexic students across the region. Leaders at the charity had seen the impact of Chatta in local schools and heard first-hand feedback from school leaders, SENDCo’s and teachers, which always highlights the power, simplicity and transformative impact of Chatta.

“Chatta is a fantastic door into the curriculum for every child.”
Sally Mansell, SENDCo

Chatta helps students overcome barriers linked to working memory, sequencing and processing. Through audio-visual modelling and scaffolding, it removes challenges in both oral and written composition, builds independence and confidence, and supports knowledge retention and understanding.

The charity’s specialist dyslexia teachers are already using Chatta. It also works well as a whole-class approach, aiming high for all pupils through inclusive teaching and learning, powered by Chatta’s award-winning software and resources.

Between 10–20% of children may have dyslexia, which means an average of two to four children in every class of thirty. Some children have mild dyslexia and may not receive a formal diagnosis, while others have more severe needs. Chatta is also highly effective for students with ADHD, autism and developmental language disorder. Nursery, primary, secondary and special schools across the country use Chatta as part of their inclusive practice and as a key element of ‘Ordinarily Available Inclusive Provision’.

Strategies that work for students with barriers to learning also benefit the whole class. Schools using Chatta see improvements in writing stamina and composition, oral language and vocabulary, subject knowledge, retrieval and retention.

“Chatta offers great benefits to so many students and is a welcome addition to our lessons.”
Laura Furniss

“My mind is still fizzing with ideas and possibilities. Chatta is open-ended and allows us to be as ambitious as we dare. Who wouldn’t want that?  It brings a new dimension to my lessons.”
Helen Vaughan

We are proud to work with Dyslexia Sparks and share their commitment to making sure every child and young person has the support they need to thrive.

Chatta is simple. Often, the smallest changes make the biggest difference.
